Every make and every model of car ever produced by the car manufacturers in past years is involved in the collector car hobby to some extent. Certain cars are more highly sought after and more prevalent at car shows. However, there is no car too unusual or too ugly to not be attractive to a car collector some-where. In fact, its oddity may be exactly what makes it so attractive to purchase, restore and show. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...with a sense of history. This is the essence of the collector car hobby which has created millions of collector car hobby enthusiasts.
The Meguiar's Award was created to honor those individuals who have done the most to improve the quality, visibility and growth of the collector car hobby. The selection process is an arduous task. The Selection Committee operates independently and is comprised entirely of prominent automotive journalists who represent the breadth of the collector car hobby.
The striking Meguiar's Award trophy is an original sculpture by famed automotive artist, Dennis Hoyt. The sculpture artfully captures the span of automotive design from the earliest years to the cars beyond. Each year the Collector Car Hobby's Person of the Year is presented with a replica of the trophy.
